The device provides safe automatic method of administering radioactive solution to a patient. Radioactive solution and saline solution are injected subsequently by a procedure selected on the control PC.

Limits the direct contact of the staff with the syringe during the administration. Doses are reduced to a minimum. Arbitrarily long administration time – Uniform dose to the patient. The device works with 2ml, 3ml, 5ml and 10ml syringes (90Y Zevalin).

Easy mobility – Minimum size and weight

Uses only standard commodity – very low operational costs Control wheels allow the manual administration, if necessary.

Device design, purpose & usage

The device has been designed as a member of the products line providing the protection of health care staff from an untoward effect of atomic irradiation. It is intended for automatic or semiautomatic administration of radiopharmaceuticals such as FDG or 90Y Zevalin. The process being controlled by computer ensures that the dose is administered equally at all times. Speed or time of administration is chosen easily in the operating program on control PC. After the administration, the rest of the activity is automatically flushed out by saline solution prepared beforehand in another syringe.

Brief description of the device and basic specifications

The Automatic administering stand consists of following main parts: Base, slider holding the syringe with saline solution and T-piece and two arms to press the pistons of the syringes. Administering could be operated by PC, or manually by driving wheels. The tubing consisting of syringe with saline and T-piece with the needle is to be prepared in the slider beforehand. The cone of the syringe is fastened to by jaws precisely defined position to ensure fast and easy connection of the syringe with dose later. The air is flushed out of the tubing by sideward arm by rotating its wheel. The syringe containing the dose for the patient inside the shielding is located in to the socket, under the vertical arm. After connecting the vertical arm to the piston of the syringe with the dose, the operating cycle is started from the PC. The software offers to define the time of the administration from one minute up to thirty minutes.
