The device provides a safe and simple method of the manual extraction of radiopharmaceuticals labelled by 99mTc - preparation of the dose for a patient. Its purpose is to reduce the risk of exposure and contamination of employees handling radioactive solutions.

It facilitates maintaining aseptic conditions when preparing solutions for injection application. The device should be used indoors at a fixed location. It should be used on a steady horizontal surface and behind protective lead glass (shield corresponding to approximately 6 mm Pb). The slanted stand PT194R2 is to be located in the groove of the device base. With a vial containing the radiopharmaceutical labeled by 99mTc inside and with an extraction and a vent needle inserted, the assembled device allows now diluting the radiopharmaceuticals labelled by 99mTc in the vial to the required volume activity. With successive extractions into syringes, it allows drawing and possibly further diluting the radiopharmaceutical to the required total and volume activity (when diluting, first draw the appropriate volume of saline solution and then the radiopharmaceutical from the device). The activity of the solution extracted into the syringe is measured directly during extaction being displayed directly.
