The stand provides a safe and simple way of handling a radioactive solution while it is being administered to a patient.
It reduces the risk of exposure and of radiation and bacterial contamination of staff handling radioactive solutions.
The syringe in the shield with the needle in its cover is placed into the stand before the administration; the stand helps to maintain aseptic conditions before the administration and reduces the risks of handling the needle after it.
